Angie's Bio:

Born in Augusta, Georgia, Angie Ribuffo was the daughter of an Army Non-Commissioned officer. The experiences she gained while traveling extensively throughout her youth, provided her the opportunity to appreciate diversity in others at a young age. Her travels throughout the U.S. also sparked an interest to serve in a military branch herself one day. She chose the Air Force.

 During her years in the Armed Forces, Angie not only served as an Air Force nurse, but she was also recognized with the Very Important Patriot Award. This award is used to recognize outstanding volunteers around the world.

 Moving into civilian life, Angie found a new passion when she began teaching for Antelope Valley College.  A military move to Europe provided Angie the opportunity to assist the community by becoming the American Red Cross Station Chairman, responsible for all Red Cross support at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. While still at Spangdahlem, Angie became employed with the Federal Government as a Social Services Program Manager. The two highlights of this job was her participation in the close of Templehof station after the fall of the Berlin wall and her management of military family support during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm Conflict in the Middle East. In this capacity, Angie assisted military families while their spouses deployed.  She also was an instructor with City Colleges of Chicago, directing and teaching in the Emergency Medical Technician Program. After Desert Shield Desert/Storm she became the Relocation Assistance Manager, where she helped her clients prepare for the long-distance U.S. and international moves and the financial factors associated with these moves.

 Continuing to pursue her interests in governmental policies and financial planning, Angie contracted with the Department of Defense Logistics Agency as a Quality of Life Consultant. Working with Federal Employees, Angie helped them prepare financially for upcoming relocations. Angie was the catalyst for this project, designing and administering a training program to support the financial needs of civilians.

 This opportunity allowed Angie to solidify her decision to become an independent Financial Advisor. In concert with First Command, a global financial services firm founded in 1958, this diverse business woman is able to add value to your money. Angie acquired her Life and Health certifications and her Series 6, 63 and 65 security designations. She is also a Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant. This independent advisor has been developing her book of business through educating college students, women’s groups and other professional business organizations. Her membership in the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, BNI and Women in Financial Services networks allows her to further grow her business. Angie also plans to continue expanding her practice through future educational seminars and corporate luncheons.

 In her spare time, Angie finds time to quilt and sits on the Board of Directors of the Rainbow Connection, a therapeutic horseback riding program for disabled adults and children. The Rainbow Connection is a new passion for Angie, where people and horses work together, strengthening lives, improving health and creating long-lasting friendships.

 Angie shares her home in Anchorage with her husband Stephen and their Golden Retriever, Callie. They have two grown sons, Stephen and Daniel. Stephen and his wife Jess reside in Monterey California and Daniel is a student here at UAA.

 Angie truly enjoys helping others. She believes in being proactive, to help avoid the potential downfalls which can arise in the life of a business, family or individual. That’s why Angie continues educating those in her community on how to manage their money, plan for the future and adapt to unexpected changes.
